All Aspects Of Business Law

David Barrett was born in Brooklyn, in 1939. He went to Midwood High School and Brooklyn College. He majored in English, since he wanted to be a poet and a writer, but soon realized that he couldn't support a family that way, so he decided to go to law school. While at NYU Law School, he became very involved with the hippie movement. He did what every hippie did, hung out a lot. He was part of a commune called, The Group Image. He was their lawyer and their friend, but hungered after something more.

He began searching for a spiritual meaning to his life. He started studying with Swami Satchidananda when he first arrived in New York back in 1965, and it just so happened that he needed a lawyer at the time. He became very close with him quickly. He did all his legal work and became the vice president of the Integral Yoga Institute while he was practicing law.

His first job was an associate in a two-man firm. One of the partners was Teddy Weiss, who was city councilman and later became the U.S. Congressman from New York City. He was a very remarkable man, and a mentor to David. After that, he went to work in an entertainment firm. His firm represented many rock groups including James Brown. He was assigned to James Brown, as his personal attorney. After the entertainment firm he went back to the judicial system. He spent nearly three years working as a judge's secretary at the New York Civil Court, where he made many valuable contacts. There he learned all about law, and became an experienced trial man.
